Essential Oils For Children
Summer is here! Children are excited to be out of school, and parents are excited for the nicer weather! There are a lot of activities that children will be doing all summer, and they will still keep you on your toes.
Oils can really benefit children during the summer months. Children are leaving their schedules and moving towards a relaxed, fun-filled summer. Keep them happy this summer by employing these essential oils.
German Chamomile: Put a few drops in your child's bath at night to calm them down. German Chamomile oil promotes rest. Start off with a small amount in the bath because too much oil can irritate your child's skin.
Peppermint: This oil promotes good digestion. It can also be handy for children with headaches. Peppermint is meant to only be used on children older than 30 months.
Lavender: This is a favorite essentials. Parents enjoy the oil's healing properties, and children enjoy the fabulous smell. Lavender can be used for the cuts, stings, and scrapes that children often get when playing outside in the summer time.
Eucalyptus: Colds happen all during the year. They can still happen during the summer, much to our dismay. Eucalyptus oil does wonders as a decongestant and immune stimulant.
Lemon: This citrus oil works great in a room diffuser. It can help bodies fight off infections. The smell is delicious, and doubles as an air freshener. Never apply this oil to your skin directly as it can irritate it.
Melaleuca oil: Melaleuca oil is an all-purpose natural essential oils. Melaleuca oil is the best choice for a first aid kit. It works great for cuts and scrapes, reducing pain, healing and disinfecting. Melaleuca oil can even be used to clean your home if you want. It may be a good idea for children with chores they need to do around the home.
