My cousin’s son was complaining for several times about a play ground bully of his school. She taught him to tell ‘stop’ and ‘I’m not afraid of you’. It worked for several times but again the boy was harassed. Now his mother taught him ‘Walk away’, that means to leave the place where that miserable face would show up.
My cousin’s son has overcome his trouble, but what if the bullying goes on inside your home? Yes my elder daughter always thinks that she is superior and tries to get over everything especially over her younger brother. I tried the above techniques. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. Then I invented a new one and BINGO! It worked. Do you want to know the technique? Well very simple, I taught him to smile. Whenever his sister tries to bully him he says “mom likes my smile, can you smile like me? If you smile you’ll get a chocolate.” Most of the time, she forgets about the work she is heading for after having the chocolate. Spending a chocolate is easier than controlling a chaotic situation, isn’t it?
