There is also an attached cord behind the hood, which allows it remain in the perfect place. The third accessory available for the graduates is the cap. Different types of institutions provide different designs of the caps to their students. This is mostly done, so that their students could be honored.

The last and the most important accessory is the tassel, which is also worn with the gown. These tassels are compulsory for the representation of the student’s achievement in a particular institution. This representation is of the entire academic career of the student. Besides this, the tassel is usually worn on the cap of the graduates in PhD robes. These tassels are usually purchased separately, when buying all the accessories of the gown. Due to which, it considers to be the most important one for any particular graduate. In some of the institutions, these tassels are also worn on different sides of the head, in order to represent the particular degree of any individual.
