Preparing for the biggest day in a young man's life can be quite stressful, and finishing college will often lead to many different challenges in their lives.  Although the graduation ceremony itself will be an important day, most students will have an awful lot more than that to worry about, as they will also be preparing to join the workforce or start looking for other educational opportunities.  When this is combined with the practical tasks such as moving out of rented accommodation and looking for somewhere new to live, it can be an exceptionally busy time too.

Probably the most famous aspect of graduation attire is the cap and gown, which has long been associated with the college and university.  The traditional colour will be black for the gown itself and for the mortarboard, with the other pieces of cloth being coloured in line with the college's official colours.  Wearing the official convocation attire is vital to celebrating the big day, and is going to be a compulsory part of the ceremony when the student will be collecting his diploma from the leader of that educational institution.

As well as the official garb for the ceremony, graduates will also need to plan what they will be wearing underneath the gown.  Most people will opt for wearing a black suit, as this will go with the gown itself and will also look smart when the gown is removed.  One of the famous incidents in cinema where a risky choice was made in terms of the clothing worn underneath the graduation attire was in the film 'Patch Adams' when he was graduating from medical school.  It is generally frowned upon in most graduation ceremonies to bare one's buttocks after accepting the diploma!

Another area where the man will need to make a decision in preparing their graduation attire is what to wear on their feet.  Most colleges and universities will expect men to wear smart black shoes, and for the most part this is a convention which is accepted by most people.  Although some men may want to wear something a little more flamboyant, most items when combined with the graduation gear will look out of place or odd.

When it comes to getting ready for the last day of an educational career, getting the clothing ready is something that should be done in plenty of time.  Because there is so much going on during this time, and that the suppliers of goods for graduations are almost inundated with orders, it is important to get everything together in plenty of time.  By putting the clothing aside once it is received people can get on with all of the other preparations that will be required when getting ready to move from full time education into the world of work.  There is no doubt that the graduation will be a once in a lifetime event for most students, so looking good is vital to make sure that the golden memories look as good in the pictures.
