Evan Emory - YouTube Criminal
21-year-old comedian/musician Evan Emory, who was charged with “manufacturing child sexual abusive material” for editing a YouTube video to appears as if he was performing an explicit song before elementary school children, was sentenced to spend 60 days behind bars as part of a plea deal to avoid a significantly harsher ruling. In addition to his two months in the slammer, Emory received two years probation, 200 hours of community service, mandatory counseling, and was ordered to pay fines and cover the cost of the trial.
The one bright spot is that Emory will not be required to register as a sex offender, though he will have to remain 500 feet from children under 17.As the saying goes, don’t play an innocuous song in front of children and edit it later to make it seem as though you’re actually playing a vulgar song if you can’t do the time. That’s how that goes, right?
