Introduction
Animals are scary. Either they have a moral compass, or worse: they have a moral compass and CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT! That's a scary thing. Sometimes, animals attack babies. NO ONE KNOWS WHY! Well, usually it's because we've invaded their personal space, which is apparently miles wide. Also, most babies are forced to watch such propaganda as Disney films. To them, this means that even the most deadly predators are actually kind/musically gifted. Blame Disney.
1.) Dingo's DO Eat Your Baby
Seriously. They do. They eat lots of things. But most famous is their taste for baby. In August 1980, some dingoes took nine-week old baby Azaria from a campsite in Melbourne, Australia. Azaria's death set off a long court case in which her parents were accused of murdering the infant. No one wanted to believe that a cute dingo could hurt someone. That lasted until police, while searching for a missing man, discovered Azaria's jacket in a dingo den. And in 1998, a dingo dragged a 13-month-old girl away from her campsite, but the girl was saved by her father who chased after the dingo.
2.) Dogs: Man's Best Friend, Babies...not so much.
Every year it seems that dogs attack and kill several babies, usually because dumb dog owners leave their BABY alone with an animal. Wake up, people. This is a bad idea. Experts theorize that dogs attack babies for several reasons. Sometimes, the fact that the baby is so small and unlike the dogs owners makes it seem more like a plaything than a friend. Other times, the dog may see the baby as an intruder in the home. Never leave a baby and dog unattended.
3.) Keep Your Baby Away From Alligators
In 2001 a 2-year-old girl hopped a 4-foot fence in Tampa, Florida. On the other side of the fence was a small pond, and a "friendly" alligator. The alligator was "friendly" because stupid humans kept feeding it. So that means human are a source of food, whether they are offering pork chops or children. Whoops! The girl must have walked directly up to the reptile, where she was tragically killed. There's more than one reason to not feed animals. One of which being that they become accustomed to humans, and then this sort of thing happens.
4.) The Hippo: Dangerous To Babies
They're dangerous to anyone, actually. Especially babies, though. In Namibia, a group of shoppers were crossing a river in a rubber raft when a hippo swam up and attacked the boat. A woman carrying a baby on her back was knocked into the water, and the pair were attacked by the hippo. Rescuers frantically tried to save the two, but were unsuccessful. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Hippos kill the most humans every year!
5.) Komodo Dragons Are Dangerous
In 2007, a dragon killed an 8 year old (not technically a baby, but whatever) on the island of Komodo (yes). The boy was fishing with his uncle when the komodo dragon attacked him, moving him about with his strong jaws. Although the boys uncle scared it off, the boy died a few hours later.
6.) Chimpanzee Eats A Baby
One day, a woman carrying a baby through the preserve was startled by Frodo. He ran up, grabbed the baby girl from the woman's arms, and ran off. When they found Frodo, he was eating the baby in a tree. Yes. Eating the baby. Chimpanzees are no longer the cute and often hilarious subject of Matt LeBlanc movies anymore. Why did this happen? Researchers explained that chimps regard smaller monkeys as prey, and a baby human is "close enough."
