Don’t ask me how, but it really works for my child. My first one has the habit of going opposite to my every instruction. If I say “get ready within two minutes”, she will say “no”. If I say ‘within two minutes we have to leave the park’, she will say “After 100 minutes, mom”. So, it was quite difficult to manage her. But thank god I have found a way to get rid of this problem.
She loves to race with anything—with our pet, with her friends; so, I think, why not with the clock? And I use this as a method of teaching discipline. I inspire her to win over the clock. And she gets things done. I say, “one, two, three, let’s see who wins-- the clock or, you?” I use this to finish her play time, or completing her meal. As she has started for school I use it to get her ready for school.
Some times she race with me. I mean, I’ll count 1 to ten and I count slowly so she can finish her work. She also enjoys when I tell her ‘can you work faster than me?’ And together we keep her toys, books in order.
Do you want your child to be discipline? Try these tricks.
