One might not think that a young 6th grade boy could turn more heads than Lady Gaga but a sensation is taking the media by firestorm. Greyson Michael Chance performed “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga for his school’s festival while his classmates sat in the backdrop, complete with mouths agape. He is now being dubbed with such names like “boy wonder” and a “prodigy”, precisely why the young man has been invited to perform on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

Greyson Chance posted his performances on YouTube and his “Paparazzi” video has gone viral – close to 40,000 hits thus far. He has also posted himself performing “Stars” and “Broken Hearts”, these both have also become popular hits on YouTube. Along with singing and playing piano, Chance also writes his own music – “Broken Hearts” being one of his own original songs.

On Chance’s YouTube profile, he posts that “Lady Gaga is a freak but she has so much talent and her style of music is what I would like mine to be when I’m older.” The young prodigy who also plays piano like a young maestro also says he is inspired by the band “Augustana”.

Chance, who can be found on YouTube under the profile name “greyson97” only joined YouTube in April 2010 and by May he had over 100,000 channel views and 65,000+ subscribers. He was ranked as #1 for the most subscribed-to member for the month on YouTube and #24 as the most viewed. Other YouTube members have also posted exactly what they think of Chance with notes like “You are amazing” and “omg I love u so much and ur hot too!..” With the thousands of comments people already have for him, it’s predicted Chance will someday be a mega-star.

It is expected that those who have never heard the name Greyson Michael Chance will undoubtedly never forget him once he performs. Many are comparing his looks with Justin Bieber – another plus for this boy’s future as he will surely get a huge fan following.

What makes Greyson Chance stand out above the crowd is not only his amazing artistic side but how he performs the songs he sings. Like a true artist, he appears to feel the music which captures his audience. His music seems to be on a higher level – he performs songs that would typically be more appropriate for someone much older.
