Gurkha Tea is a family-run tea estate in Shree Antu, Nepal, of an ex Gurkha army who strives to support his family's tea garden as well as the retired Gurkha's with donations from every packet sold.



Our gardens lay in the foothills of the Himalayas on the border of Nepal and India, overlooking Darjeeling and Mt Kanchenjunga. Our unique location helps us to provide our customers with refreshing and highly flavorsome tea. The naturally cultivated Nepalese tea is full of aromatic flavor of the highest quality.



Our teas are picked from mid-April when we have our top quality first flush teas, which continues throughout the year until November. The characteristic of our teas are bright with refreshingly unique flavors full of our authentic aroma. The teas are packed into ranges of loose teas and tea bags, all with their own different style packaging.

Gurkha Tea. orthodox black tea has a Darjeeling-like character with good muscatel flavor due to their close proximity.  This natural flavor becomes more pronounced during the 2nd flush and gives the tea more body as the season progresses.  These characteristics are unique due to the originating species , the high altitude, soil conditions, weather conditions and the processing techniques used by master growers. Our black tea are grown high in the mountains, surrounded by snow covered peaks and the worlds tallest mountain. 

These extraordinary conditions have produced a tea, high in antioxidants, with polyphenol content measured at 10.55%.  An exceptional black tea for the connoisseur and health conscious individual

Nepal tea tea crops are grown on much fresher soils and are enjoying much more recognition.

For our tea ranges we use biodegradable and natural resourced materials, using traditional Nepalese techniques. We first create the paper, locally known as 'Nepali paper', and then we hand craft each box individually.
