Asterocytoma is a kind of brain tumor in which the glial cells of brain forms tumor. Asterocytes are the brains glial cells, if they form tumor then it is known as Asterocytoma. These are basically of two types, one is high grade asterocytoma which migrates from one part of the brain to other i.e. malignancy, second type is low grade asterocytoma which is beningn tumor i.e. does not migrate from one place to other.

Another term associated with this disorder is "Glioma Multiformis", if tumor cells are of different types then the condition is known as Glioma Multiformis. There occurs no as such treatment of Asterocytoma, but oedema can be reduced by steroids, anticonvulsants is given if seizure is there (eg. Phenytoin, temozolomide).

One drastic condition sometimes may occur during Astyerocytoma is that due to tumor increase in intra cranial pressure may lead to headache and if CTZ is stimulated then lead to vomiting. So this is considered as the symptoms of Asterocytoma. Generally youngsters are more prone to this disorders, and such conditions is prevented by avoiding the use of cell phones. Such patient can live at the most of 7.5 years. Only treatment is neurosurgery, and chcnces of survival after surgery is doubtful.
