bajaj pulsar 220 dtsi
The bajaj pulsar 220-dtsi introduced early this year claims to be the fastest Indian street bike(by zigwheels.com). The bike has been given a major facelift compared to its predecessor, the 220-fi . The most significant being the replacement of the fuel injection system with a 32mm venturi carburetor and auto-choke feature. Other dimensions of the engine remains the same. Power output has been pegged at 21.04PS @ 8500rpm, and though the torque remains the same at 19.12Nm, it now comes in at a higher 8000rpm, signaling the revvy nature of the motor with ample torque to go with it.
Other changes to the engine insides include new combustion chamber, all new port geometry for optimized thermodynamics, new valve coat material to eliminate cardon formation, new design short skirt lower friction piston, an all new camshaft and 33% larger oil cooler. In addition, the intake port in the cylinder head has been modified, along with higher lift and duration cam. A larger resonator and catalytic convertor is also used to increase performance. It also uses temperature based ignition mapping system through which the ignition timing is optimized to acheive good startability, quick warm up and outstanding torque. New Pulsar 220cc features the standard five speed gearbox with one down and four up pattern.
Visually, the bike has an all-black treatment with black forks, swingarm, alloys and engine paint. Likewise other changes include a slightly modified 3d graphics, a redesigned console background, gold colored brake calipers and revised clip-on handlebars to give it a more attractive look. Its available in four colors:red ,blue, black and silver
