It’s easy to control your child’s bad temper at home, but if it happens in public places like mall, restaurant, and park or, play ground the situation becomes worse. It was embarrassing for me when my daughter anika collapsed on the floor of the Shopping mall and went completely out of control and everyone (or so it seemed) was watching and judging how we deal with this tiny tornado. Here are some tips for coping with public displays of such tantrums.
Most of the time I wanted to distract her. And keep stickers or, coins and things she loved inside my bag. Whenever she screams I take out any of those and tell her that I wish to give it to the most polite child in the mall/ that specific place. It always works for me.
I often try to console her and avoid her demand in my way. See how I managed her oneday:
My daughter: “I want a new play station!”
Me: “I want a perfume.”
My daughter: “Give me a new play station!”
Me “Give me a perfume.”
My daughter: “Give me a new play station !”
Me: “I'll give you a new play station if you give me a perfume.”
My daughter: “Here.”(she pretended to hand me something.)
