How to Silence the Vuvuzela and Watch World Cup in Peace

The World Cup is being watched around the globe, and universally soccer fans are lamenting those obnoxious, loud vuvuzela horns that blare throughout each and every match. But World Cup fans rejoice! There is a solution

 to stopping the dreaded vuvuzela!

Lifehacker reports there are several solutions available to stop the drone of the vuvuzela. You can either use a computer or your television.

Computer method: You can selectively mute the four frequencies that the vuvuzela takes over using a sound-editing software like Logic or Garageband.

Stereo method: You actually don't have to filter your signal through the computer if you have a stereo with an equalizer or a television that lets you equalize sound on its menu.

Lifehacker tested it out: "if you duck your EQ at 465Hz and 235Hz, you can in fact filter out the buzz with great results. Ideally you'll reduce each frequency by at least 40dB (which got rid of the drone completely for us), but if your equipment can't quite duck that low, just go as low as you can. "

It's very simple to get rid of those stupid horns, so no excuses! Remember, the vuvuzela sounds at 465Hz and 235Hz, so if you can mute those (or turn them down significantly) you can create a much, much more enjoyable World Cup watching experience!
